Florian Osselin PhD

I am a postdoctoral researcher at ISTO (Institut des Sciences de la Terre d'Orléans - France). My research revolves around the coupled processes linked to the percolation of a reactive fluid in natural geological formations. In particular, I focus on the complex feedbacks and interactions between chemical reactions, petrophysical properties of the host rock and mechanical behavior.

This work as profound implications on the fondamental understanding of the behavior of the Earth, but also on the green and sustainable exploitation of Earth's underground resources (minerals, hydrocarbons, geothermal energy, CO2 sequestration...).

Research

My research focuses on the coupling between flow, chemistry and mechanics in porous media in natural and engineered settings such as geothermal plants, CO2 sequestration, subduction zones...
